Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope is a new website that is only a few months old, but quickly gaining attention. This is an excerpt from the Founder, Kristin Cook:

There are hundreds of women bravely and openly sharing their stories of miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss on personal blogs, all over the world, and others who are looking for a way to share their stories with others. Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope is a place for us to come together and share our stories and our faces with others who may be looking for reassurance that they are not alone. My hope is that Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope becomes a place for new members of this "babyloss club" to come and read hundreds of other stories, and see hundreds of other faces like theirs, all in one place.

It is also my hope that Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope brings awareness to the issue of pregnancy/infant loss. I hope that by telling the world we are not afraid to show our faces and tell our stories, barriers will be broken down. Taboos will be broken, and lines of communication will be opened.

In reading many of the stories of loss and the uplifting stories of hope, I knew I had to participate. Although I've written pieces of my story several times over the last eight years, I haven't shared it in much detail with the world. I procrastinated on writing the stories and honestly, it was an emotionally tough few days going down that dark road of grief again. But I am excited to share my story of loss and story of hope with you now. Reader Discretion is advised, please do not read the stories if you think it would be too upsetting. You can read these stories here:

Holiday Ordering Dates

UPDATE 12/23/10- all orders placed by 6pm on December 22nd and custom engraved handprint/footprint jewelry orders placed by December 17th HAVE SHIPPED and are en route to their destination. We are now closed for Christmas Vacation and will be reopening on Monday December 27th. Merry Christmas!

November 10th will be the last day to place an order of Custom Engraved Handprint & Footprint Jewelry for guaranteed Christmas delivery (in the USA only).

December 1st is the last day to order for guaranteed Christmas delivery of personalized, engraved, and hand stamped jewelry (in the USA only).

Please note that we can only guarantee Christmas delivery within the United States. We can't predict delivery dates on International shipping, and this time of year may require extra shipping time to reach it's destination.

After the dates noted above, you may possibly receive your order before Christmas, but it is not guaranteed. Due to the very high volume of orders received during the holidays, our lead time increases 1-2 weeks above the normal processing time stated in the product descriptions. When placing your order, you may want to choose the Express Shipping option to expedite delivery once your order is made and ready to ship. Every year we have numerous last minute shoppers who need to have their custom handprint and footprint, or personalized jewelry item before Christmas. These will be subject to a rush processing fee if we are physically able to accommodate their request. Please place your order by the stated cutoff dates if you definitely want it to arrive before Christmas. You can use the Add to Wish List feature when browsing our website products and then email your Wish List to others. Please also inform the email recipients of the cutoff dates as well.

If you are ordering one of our unique keepsakes after these stated deadlines, you can print out a Gift Presentation Card to let the gift recipient know that a handcrafted treasure is on it's way.

While we love working individually with customers to create the perfect keepsake just for them, customized orders (specialty charms, different engraving layouts, and products not listed on the website) can not be accepted during November and December.

Also, we will be closed for vacation and out of the office from Monday, November 1st through Sunday, November 7th. We will be back in the studio and catching up on orders on Monday, November 8th. Any engraved or personalized orders placed after Wednesday, Wednesday October 27th will not be shipped until we return. I will do my best to ship out all simple orders before we leave.

You can still place online orders during November 1 - November 7. They will be completed in the order that they are received in, when we return. Express orders can not be shipped until after November 9th.

Thank you for your continued support and patronage of My Forever Child. We are truly appreciative, and we wish you peace, comfort, and strength for the upcoming Holiday season.

Gift Certificate Winners

Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and compassion the last week. I was in tears reading all of the comments on Facebook, our blog, twitter, and email, it was overwhelming and humbling. In appreciation, I changed the give away to (1)$100 AND (2)$50 gift certificates.

It was quite a job to number all the entries for the random generator, there were over 300 entries! The lucky winners are:

$100 Gift Certificate to:
Kelly @ Sufficient Grace Ministries: "I have been wanting to get a piece of jewelry in memory of my Faith, Grace, and Thomas for a long time. Maybe this is my chance! I've also thought of getting something to represent all of my children."

$50 Gift Certificate to:
Mindy Bugby: "My Caidyn drowned just 16 days after his 2nd birthday May 4, 2008. I miss him every day, and a group of ladies purchased a My Forever Child necklace for me and I absolutely love it. After hearing about a little girl that drowned not long after Caidyn died I felt the need to pay it forward and purchased a similar necklace for her mom. All the jewelry offered here is beautiful. Thankful to have a piece in remembrance of my baby boy."

$50 Gift Certificate to:
Andi Soergel: "I have wanted a pendant with my son, Haven's, footprint on it for a long time! How wonderful that you have turned your loss into something that has truly blessed so many!!"

Although not chosen by the random generator, I have to give an honorable mention gift to Holly Haas for sharing these phenomenal photos of her custom pieces, and the following comment "Sue, words can't even begin to describe how grateful I am to have met you and be blessed by My Forever Child. Your generosity the first day of Carleigh's visitation really touched me and I never expected to receive such a wonderful gift. Truly amazing!! You showed me how much it means to have someone show they care with a gift from the heart. It means so much to be able to wear something that represents my daughter and some day I'd like to get something to represent my other child and all of my children. I definitely wear your jewelry proudly!"

"Carleigh's footprint bracelet wrapped around a figure of a mommy and her angel baby created by Dana of The Midnight Orange."

"Carleigh's handprint/footprint pendant on her necklace with her baby ring. It's the necklace I wear almost every day. It's hanging on a toy box made for Carleigh by my aunt and uncle."

Thank you again to everyone that participated in the One Day Sale and Gift Certificate Giveaway in honor of my son Matthew's 8th Angelversary. Each the entries were a blessing and will be forever remembered as an instrumental part of my healing journey. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
