Mother's Day is a particularly difficult holiday for a woman whose child(ren) has passed away. What should be a day of happiness and celebration becomes lonely and painful for the bereaved mother. While she is still a mother, the outside world may not acknowledge that. If you know a woman who is grieving the loss of her child(ren), be sure to reach out to her on Mother's Day. You can visit her, send a card, or call her to let her know that she is in your thoughts and that you are remembering her child(ren), that they are not forgotten. If you are a bereaved mother, try to communicate with your family how they can help you to get through this holiday. Be gentle with yourself and don't participate in any activities that you don't want to. As always, you are all in my prayers. It'll get easier with time, or so I'm told.
People may forget that I am your mother.
